After a few Montana fishing trips in his youth, Jake eventually escaped North Dakota and set his sights on Bozeman. The outdoors brought him here and school kept him here resulting in a master's degree and a job with what he says is "an awesome company" in a place that he loves.

​Design for Jake is multifaceted, as should its presentation and exploration. He feels very fortunate to work with a team that excels across a variety of disciplines and mediums from construction to graphic design. Jake has a variety of projects under his belt that include residential projects, large commercial work, company logo design and building branding, and even manufacturing spaces. Moving through different project types and the nature of a fast-paced environment keeps him on his toes in an exciting way. Jake is excited to see what the future will bring for the SMA team and their influence on his experience in our ever-evolving built environment.

​When Jake is not at work you can probably find him, depending on the season, hiking and backpacking, climbing, snowboarding, or skating. You can also regularly find him on a stage leading a bass bumpin’, spin class, or instructing a workout. No matter where you find Jake, there’s a strong chance he's accompanied by his Great Pyrenees hunk o’ love, Gilligan.
