Celebrating History
Constructed in 1963, Knowles Hall is a loved building on the University of Montana's campus.
This project celebrates the history of the building while introducing updates to spaces that allow students to connect, learn, and live more easily.
Expanded Amenities for Inclusion
The first floor provides a full accessible kitchen for students to gather and cook.
Each community now has centralized laundry and gender-neutral restrooms with fully accessible fixtures in each community.
We are UM!
Finishes throughout were selected to be thoughtful to mid-century design while branding to the University of Montana campus experience.
UM Maroon is used heavily throughout the first floor complimented by additional colors for way finding and community identity on the upper floors.
