Carroll College Student Life Master Plan

  • Carroll set their sights high to recruit and retain 270 students by 2027 with an updated strategic plan launched in 2022.


  • The master plan scope aimed at focusing planning efforts on campus improvements and projects that would engage, recruit, and retain students – supporting the strategic plan’s primary goals.

Student Engagement

  • Curated interaction with the students was critical to the success of the master plan.


  • Pinpoint mapping with color coded pins was just one of the methods the design team utilized to engage directly with Carroll’s students.

  • SMA crafted discussions with stakeholder groups including Carroll staff and faculty, legacy Carroll alumni, students, City of Helena planning and engineering staff, and key community members.
